Cosmetic Bonding, Alondra

October 5, 2016 By Dr. Beers' Office

Alondra was 3 years old and as cute as they come with the exception of her smile. Alondra is a living example of what can happen when you to a child living on soda and candy while at the same time failing to brush regularly at the age of 3.

It would be a shame to create the STIGMA of a steel smile by placing convenient stainless steel crowns on teeth C-H. Her mother was desperate to recreate her beautiful white smile.

The cosmetic bonding of chairside laminates is not just for adults anymore, we chose to use resin to restore her 6 maxilary anterior teeth.

We filled the deep voids after caries removal with microhybrid, including the lingual shelves. We added blue tint to the labials and used several restorative products to achieve a natural appearance. Thanks to Alandra for being such a superlative patient, it was well worth the McDonald’s bucks.

Dental Implant, Single Tooth

October 5, 2016 By Dr. Beers' Office

Mark is a small business owner who works with the public all day long, so when he broke his upper anterior tooth (tooth #8) going without it was not an option.

His other teeth were in good health and it did not make sense to work on the adjacent teeth to fabricate a bridge. A dental implant is the new standard of care in the 21st century because it replaced the missing tooth in a way similar to your natural tooth and allows for better hygiene to keep the implant and adjacent teeth healthy.

In Mark’s case the missing tooth #8 was replaced using an endosseous implant and full ceramic crown joined by a custom zirconium abutment. Mark was very happy with the results of his new tooth and the natural smile he can give his customers.

Smile Makeover, Susan

October 4, 2016 By Dr. Beers' Office

Susan came to us wanting a youthful and healthy looking smile.

After waxing up her upper and lower anterior teeth, Dr. Beers recommended porcelain veneers to restore her smile. Once she eagerly agreed to Dr. Beers’ treatment plan, Susan enjoyed a day at the dental office where she had her upper anterior teeth #5-#12, all of the upper teeth visible in her smile, restored with veneers.

While she was more than pleased with the results, Susan choose to wait awhile for her lower anterior teeth. The same process was used for her lower front teeth #20-#29 and she has been overjoyed with her new smile!

A smile makeover such as this one will not only give a natural youthful look to the teeth but when the height of the teeth have been reduced by attrition and wear the look of the face is changed by the reduced distance between the upper and lower jaw. So when correctly combined with posterior restorations the result can be an instant face lift without surgery!

Well-placed porcelain restorations by an experienced professional will behave similar to natural tooth structure and can last many years!

Crowns and Veneers

September 29, 2016 By Dr. Beers' Office

Ken, a 56 year old prominent businessman and aspiring politician came to Dr. Beers for a new smile.

His chief concerns were short, dark front teeth and a 30 year old porcelain fused to metal crown on tooth #9 (upper front tooth left of center). He was interested in a political career and felt a better smile would be needed.

The minimum treatment for an ideal smile design in this case was to the upper 8 front teeth (#5-#12) and the lower 8 front teeth (21-28).

This would involve seeing the periodontist for bony elongation of these regions to raise the bone and gum tissue needed to create the golden proportion of an ideal smile.

Ken ultimately chose to replace all of his dark crowns and posterior amalgam fillings too.

His restored using veneers for teeth #5, #7, #10 on the upper anteriors and #20, #21, #22, #23, #24 and #25 on the lower. Crowns were placed on #6, #8, #9, #11 with a small composite filling on #10 to finish his upper teeth and crowns on #26, #27, #28, #29, #30 and #31 for his lowers.

Ken reports being very pleased with care he received from Dr. Beers and he loves his new smile.
