Smile Design

September 9, 2016 By Dr. Beers' Office

Cosmetic dentistry isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. True smile design takes into account the shape, color and texture of your existing facial features. Dentistry is a combination of mechanical and artistic skill.

Dr. Beers developed the mechanical and technical skill he needed by doing his post doctoral work in orthodontics with an emphasis on function. He is a founding member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry where he gained the expertise he needed in soft tissue contouring, he was even published for his work on two procedures; the frenectomy and the gingivectomy.

For over 3 decades he has committed to high standards on the technical aspects of creating crowns that fit and function well. With that experience level, Dr. Beers has earned Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry, but that is only part of the equation.

In order for an artist to create great art, that artist must know the principles and tools of the medium in which they work. The same is true for aesthetic or cosmetic dentistry. A tooth is not solid white but a nuanced blend of several colors and some parts of the tooth allow more light to pass through than others. Neither is a tooth a simple rectangle or completely flat and smooth.

Understanding the art behind creating your smile is what drove Dr. Beers to seek out an organization committed to excellence in smile design what it takes to achieve results only rivaled by nature, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Beers submitted to an arduous training and testing process that ultimately ended in having his cases peer reviewed by some of the top cosmetic dentists in the country in order to obtain accredited member status.

Dental Implants

September 9, 2016 By Dr. Beers' Office

Dental implants are quickly becoming the standard of care for missing teeth and many people are coming from around the state of New Mexico to see Dr. Beers for this critical quality of life improvement.

One of the keys to good health, as we age, is to keep as many of our teeth as possible and to replace those lost to disease or breakage so that we can still eat the fruits, veggies, and meat that will get us the proteins, vitamins, and minerals we need to maintain our health.

Missing teeth cause other teeth in your mouth to drift out of place. This causes crooked teeth, tooth wear, functional and aesthetic concerns. Placing dental implants into areas of missing teeth will preserve your smile’s function and integrity for years.

Dental Implant in Socorro, New MexicoDental implants are the closest thing we have to real teeth. They feel more like your natural teeth because they are placed into your jaw just like a true tooth instead of sitting on top of the gum like the false tooth of a bridge or the removable partial or denture that is taken out each night.

Each implant root is supported by and fused with the bone of your jaw, similar to a natural tooth. In fact, implants strengthen your bone and work to preserve the integrity of adjacent teeth. They are a complement to your entire smile.

Whether you are missing all of your teeth or just one, dental implants offer the most reliable and effective way to replace them and they outlast any other type of tooth replacement available.

Implants can support a variety of tooth replacement restorations, including:

  • Porcelain Crowns
  • Dental Bridges
  • Implant Retained Dentures

Rebuilding your smile is a tremendous responsibility that Dr. Beers takes seriously. That is why he has invested in 3-Dimensional cone beam radiography to properly understand the amount and type of bone you have available as well as using that information to create an incredibly accurate guide to place your implant in the best position for your mouth.
