Are all crowns created equal?

Most dentists offer crowns. Is there a difference? Recent news stories have uncovered many dentists using overseas labs and lesser quality materials to save money and keep fees lower. But as with many things in life, you get what you pay for. Dr Beers uses only the best domestic labs or our in-office system (see below). Read more.

Crowns

Dental crowns cover the entire surface of a tooth and add strength, durability and tooth stability. Grinding your teeth, an improper bite, aging, old fillings and tooth decay can all be contributing factors in the wearing down, cracking or breaking of teeth. Crowns can be used to restore a cracked or broken tooth, cover a discolored or misshapen tooth, cover a dental implant, or protect a tooth which has been treated with a root canal. Dr. Beers is proud to offer state-of-the-art, natural-looking, ceramic crowns. These beautiful restorations are created in the laboratory, specifically for each patient, matching the shade and contours of their natural teeth while restoring their beautiful smile.

Are All Crowns Created Equal? Continued...

Most people would agree that what we put into our bodies is important. There are many factors involved in creating a quality crown for your mouth. Materials are chosen for strength, appearance and bio-compatibility. While anything could be used (and sometimes are) to create the basic shape of a tooth, Dr. Beers believes in using only quality materials that are compatible with your body and offer the durability to endure every day chewing forces. That is only the starting point.

A crown should fit the other teeth in your mouth. Teeth have been created with amazing properties. They are made to support one another. They fit tightly against one another to keep everything in line. A crown must mimic nature, it needs to fit properly not only against its neighbors, but must connect correctly with the opposing teeth above or below it. Dr. Beers is committed to excellent restorations and will never place a crown that doesn't fit as it should. Nor will he compromise on quality.
