Dr. Duane H. Beers, D.M.D, F.A.G.D.

Dr. Beers graduated from UC-Davis in 1971 with a B.S. in biochemistry. He went to Washington Dental School in St. Louis, MO and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine diploma with honors in March 1975. He took a position with the U.S. Public Health Service, Indian Health Service in Zuni, NM. While there he pursued extensive postdoctoral training in oral surgery, orthodontics, and pedodontics. Since then, Dr. Beers has continued his education in the disciplines of cosmetic and orthodontic dentistry. He attended the Academy of Laser dentistry's first conference in Switzerland in 1992 and has since incorporated the use of the CO2 and nd:yag lasers into his daily practice. In 1998, he became New Mexico's only dentist to receive the Masters Level Certification (M.A.L.D.) from the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

Dr. Beers is a charter member of the American Association of Functional Orthodontics and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He is a founding member of New Mexico's Horizon Study Club. Dr. Beers is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the NM Dental Association. Dr. Beers is also comitted to using his skills in concert with his faith, and is a regular participant on medical mission trips through organizations like Healthcare Ministries. more...
